भारत सरकार ने Incentive Scheme for Promotion of Domestic PNG Connections को घरेलू स्तर पर Piped Natural Gas यानी PNG connections के विस्तार को तेज करने के उद्देश्य से मंजूरी दी है। यह scheme 1 September 2026 से effective है।

PNG क्या है?
PNG यानी Piped Natural Gas एक natural gas-based cooking fuel है, जिसे pipeline network के माध्यम से घरों तक पहुंचाया जाता है। घरेलू PNG का उपयोग मुख्य रूप से cooking के लिए किया जाता है।

Incentive Scheme कैसे काम करेगी?
इस scheme में प्रत्येक Geographical Area (GA) के लिए एक Threshold Level निर्धारित किया जाएगा। CGD entity द्वारा इस threshold से ऊपर achieved incremental billed domestic PNG connections को incentive calculation में लिया जाएगा।

200 SCM Incentive का मतलब क्या है?
Scheme के तहत eligible CGD entities को प्रत्येक qualifying incremental billed domestic PNG connection के लिए 200 Standard Cubic Metres (SCM) अतिरिक्त domestically-produced, lower-priced APM gas allocation मिलेगा।
ध्यान दें: यहां 200 SCM gas allocation को household consumer को मिलने वाली 200 SCM free gas या ₹200/₹200 की cash subsidy नहीं समझना चाहिए। यह CGD entity को मिलने वाला gas-allocation based incentive है।
APM Gas क्या है?
APM यानी Administered Price Mechanism के तहत domestically-produced natural gas की pricing government-administered mechanism के अनुसार होती है। Scheme में eligible CGD entities को lower-priced domestic APM gas का additional allocation incentive के रूप में दिया जाना है।
इस additional gas allocation का उपयोग CGD entities की gas sourcing requirements को support करने और comparatively costlier LNG dependence को कम करने में किया जा सकता है।
