UP BC Sakhi Yojana 2026: Eligibility, Benefits, ₹4,000 Assistance, Work and Online Apply

UP BC Sakhi Yojana is a rural financial-inclusion initiative of the Uttar Pradesh Government under which women are trained and engaged as Banking Correspondent Sakhis (BC Sakhis) to improve access to banking services in villages.

UP BC Sakhi Yojana 2026 Latest Update

The official UPSRLM BC Sakhi Open Registration page currently shows that applications are closed. A new registration window should therefore be treated as active only when UPSRLM publishes it officially.

What is UP BC Sakhi Yojana?

BC Sakhi stands for Banking Correspondent Sakhi. The programme is associated with the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM), Department of Rural Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The main objective is to improve access to banking and financial services in rural areas, particularly where residents have to travel to nearby towns or bank branches for routine banking needs.

Objectives of the BC Sakhi Programme

  • Improve access to banking services in rural areas.
  • Make banking services available closer to rural residents.
  • Create opportunities for women in banking-related entrepreneurship.
  • Strengthen the connection between Self Help Groups and banking services.
  • Promote digital banking and financial inclusion.

One Gram Panchayat, One BC Sakhi

The Uttar Pradesh Government adopted a model aimed at having one BC Sakhi in each Gram Panchayat. The official programme documents refer to the selection, training and deployment of BC Sakhis across approximately 58,000 Gram Panchayats.

How Much Does a BC Sakhi Receive?

According to official UPSRLM programme information, BC Sakhis are provided ₹4,000 per month for six months as initial support to help stabilize their banking-service business.

After the initial support period, income can also come through transaction-based commission. The applicable commission depends on the banking arrangement and transactions performed.

Important: The ₹4,000 amount should not be described as a permanent monthly salary. It is described by UPSRLM as initial support.

What Does a BC Sakhi Do?

  • Help rural residents access banking services.
  • Assist with eligible digital banking transactions.
  • Support routine banking transactions through the authorised banking setup.
  • Help rural residents access banking services related to government payments and DBT.
  • Connect Self Help Groups and rural households with banking services.
  • Promote financial inclusion.

Who Can Apply for UP BC Sakhi?

The programme is primarily designed to provide opportunities to rural women, particularly women associated with Self Help Groups, to work as Banking Correspondent Sakhis.

The government order states that an active SHG member with leadership ability may receive preference in selection. Where an appropriate SHG member is not available, an entrepreneurial rural woman may also be considered under the prescribed process, with provision for linking her to an SHG.

Age, education, Gram Panchayat, SHG membership and other eligibility conditions applicable to a new recruitment/selection notification should be checked from that notification.

Training and Certification

Selected BC Sakhi candidates undergo banking-related training and certification. UPSRLM's official information states that the programme includes training on the Banking Correspondent module.

Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) have played an important role in training BC Sakhis, while certification has been linked with the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF).

  • Mobile number
  • Recent photograph
  • Bank-account details
  • Residential details
