Swachhta Udyami Yojana sanitation workers को sanitation-related equipment और vehicles के माध्यम से अपना mechanised sanitation enterprise शुरू करने या विकसित करने में financial support देने का component है।
इसका broader objective sanitation work को अधिक mechanised, safe और dignified बनाना तथा workers को sustainable livelihood और entrepreneurship की दिशा में support करना है।

NAMASTE Scheme क्या है?
National Action for Mechanised Sanitation Ecosystem (NAMASTE) को Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment तथा Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs द्वारा July 2023 में launch किया गया था।
Official scheme objectives में sanitation workers की safety और dignity सुनिश्चित करना, hazardous cleaning को रोकना, mechanised cleaning को बढ़ावा देना और sanitation workers को entrepreneurship तथा alternative livelihood opportunities से जोड़ना शामिल है।

Individual Project: Upfront capital subsidy की ceiling 2025–26 में बढ़ाकर ₹7.50 lakh कर दी गई है।
Group Project: अधिकतम 5 beneficiaries वाले group projects के लिए upfront capital subsidy की ceiling ₹25 lakh तक है।

SUY NAMASTE के sanitation-worker livelihood और enterprise-development framework का हिस्सा है। Scheme का focus sanitation workers, identified sewer/septic tank cleaning workers और eligible beneficiaries को mechanised sanitation entrepreneurship की ओर support करना है।

Loan और subsidy की exact structure project cost, beneficiary contribution, lending agency और applicable guidelines पर निर्भर करती है।
21 September 2026 का Latest SUY Update
21 September 2026 को PIB ने NAMASTE-SUY के तहत Karnati Srinivasa Rao की livelihood transformation का उदाहरण प्रकाशित किया।
Group project की कुल cost ₹50 lakh थी, जिसमें ₹31.25 lakh loan और ₹18.75 lakh upfront capital subsidy शामिल थी। Group में Rao सहित पांच members थे।
Mechanised sanitation services शुरू करने के बाद PIB के अनुसार Rao को लगभग ₹10,000 प्रति माह अतिरिक्त income प्राप्त होने लगी।
यह एक individual beneficiary case study है; इसे सभी beneficiaries के लिए guaranteed income या guaranteed loan amount नहीं माना जाना चाहिए।
Uttar Pradesh से SUY का Example
August 2026 में PIB ने Ghaziabad के एक sanitation entrepreneur का example भी प्रकाशित किया। Neeraj ने SUY के माध्यम से mechanised sanitation service enterprise स्थापित किया।
