The MSME Sustainable (ZED) Certification Scheme encourages manufacturing units to elevate production efficiency, lower environmental pollution, and achieve global quality benchmarks. Structured across three graded milestones—Bronze, Silver, and Gold—the initiative offers up to 80% financial subsidies on certification fees, handholding consultancy expenses, testing charges, and energy audit outlays.

Key Advantages of ZED Certification
- Bank Interest & Fee Concessions: Leading public and private banks offer interest rate rebates (up to 0.50% p.a.) and lower loan processing charges for ZED-certified units.
- Concessional CGTMSE Fee: Subsidized Annual Guarantee Fee (AGF) tariffs on collateral-free credit facilities.
- Consulting & Handholding Support: Up to ₹2 Lakh financial assistance per unit to hire empanelled QCI experts for achieving Silver and Gold ratings.
- Testing & Equipment Assistance: Up to ₹5 Lakh reimbursement for technical testing and calibration of machinery at NABL-accredited laboratories.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must qualify as a valid Micro, Small, or Medium Enterprise with an active Udyam Registration Certificate.
- Manufacturing units actively producing physical industrial goods (pure service providers are not covered under manufacturing ZED).
- Enterprise promoters must complete the digital ZED Pledge on the central online portal.
- Plant and premises must comply with minimum statutory safety and pollution control board norms.
Step-by-Step Online Registration & Certification Flow
- Visit the official portal at zed.msme.gov.in and log in using your Udyam Registration Number.
- Take the free digital ZED Pledge to activate your company profile.
- Select your target assessment level: Bronze (Self-desktop verified), Silver, or Gold (On-site desktop and physical audits).
- Complete the self-assessment questionnaire, upload proof documents, and pay the discounted fee after government subsidy deduction.
- Following desk evaluation or site audit by authorized third-party inspection agencies, the official ZED Certificate is issued with a 3-year validity.
