Reported Counting Trends

Media reports published during counting on October 27 reported early leads in some constituencies. Live Hindustan reported that Samajwadi Party candidates were leading on four of the seven seats for which trends had started, while BJP candidates were leading on three. These were early trends and should not be treated as final results.

Bareilly-Moradabad Teachers Constituency

A media report published at 6:41 PM reported that BJP candidate Dr Hari Singh Dhillon received 5,251 votes in the first round, while Samajwadi Party candidate Danish Akhtar received 816 votes. The report also mentioned 686 invalid votes. These figures refer to the reported first round and do not establish the final winner.

How Are MLC Votes Counted?

Graduate and Teachers constituency elections use ballot papers and a preferential voting system. Depending on the valid votes and the required quota, counting may continue through additional preference rounds. An early lead may change as counting proceeds. The official declaration by the Returning Officer is the authoritative result.
