Educational Qualification
- Masters Degree in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign university.
- At least 55% marks or equivalent grade at Masters Degree level.
- 5% relaxation from 55% to 50% is applicable to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) categories as specified.
- 5% relaxation from 55% to 50% is also provided to Persons with Physical/Visual Disabilities as specified.
- Eligible Ph.D. holders who completed their Masters Degree before September 1991 may receive the prescribed 5% relaxation.
- Candidates must have cleared NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by the State Public Service Commission, subject to the exceptions specified in the notification.
NET / Ph.D. Exemption
The notification provides specific exemption provisions for eligible Ph.D. candidates who were registered before 11 July 2009 and satisfy the prescribed conditions relating to regular-mode Ph.D., external evaluation, open viva, research publications and conference/seminar presentations.
Age Limit
The prescribed age limit is 18 to 45 years. Age will be reckoned as on 1 January 2026.
The notification provides applicable upper-age relaxation for eligible Bonafide Himachali SC/ST/OBC/WFF/PwD candidates and other categories according to Himachal Pradesh Government rules.
Salary / Emoluments
Selected candidates engaged as Job Trainees will receive fixed emoluments of ₹35,000 per month.
Application Fee
A uniform examination fee of ₹600 is applicable to all candidates irrespective of category or gender, as specified in the advertisement.

Paper-I is a 100-mark objective screening test covering General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh, National and International Affairs, Hindi and English. Paper-II is a 120-mark descriptive Subject Aptitude Test of three hours duration.
For objective-type tests, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for an incorrect answer. The notification also specifies the prescribed treatment of multiple or blank answers.
